2013-2014

Stemming from a desire to travel, my practice has surrounded an interest in exotic landscapes, however the paintings are not representational of real places but of second source imagery available as a result of the technological advances in the twenty-first century. The colours and forms within my landscapes are instinctive and have been abstracted from my own reality in the consumerist western world This series aims to create similar feelings of frustration for the viewer, as I experience using my source material by employing both formal devices interiorly within the painting and physically in the construction and hanging of the paintings.
